Meet my niece Melissa

This is my sweet little niece Melissa. She is graduating form Lindsay High School where she plays tennis. We took her senior pictures on Saturday and it was pretty cool outside. We had fun at the park at TWU and walking around the square in Denton. Melissa has the same bright blue eyes that my kids have, thanks to Grandma Betty Neu!

More Senior Guys

Here's more from Sunday. There were too many to choose from...

Senior 07

Well, I have been really behind on my blog. I have been very busy photographing this past week. The weather has caused me to have to reschedule some sessions, but I managed to photograph 6 seniors this past weekend. Here are some of the favorites....

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter Sunday. We spent the day with my aunt and cousins in Whitesboro. It was so nice of them to have us over. The kids had a blast hunting eggs. My aunt has a train track right in front of her house, so Keller was really excited about that. Look at the pictures of the kids holding up the shiny eggs and see if you can see my reflection, they turned out so cool. Even though it was a weird cold day, it turned out to be nice. For those of you reading this that might not be from here, it was like 80 degrees last week and it snowed yesterday! Time to go through the kids' Easter candy (more than you can EVEN imagine!) and take it to work.....hopefully they won't notice!!!

Soccer Games

My 6 year old Carson started in athletics with TeeBall. Well, he was the kid that kicked the dirt in the outfield and threw his glove up in the air. He was totally NOT into it. So we decided to try him in soccer. Well, he is all over the ball and loves it. If it was his Dad's choice, he'd still be playing baseball. So it goes to show that we really can't force kids to do the things that they are not interested in. Here's some pictures of Carson having fun. Marty is even assisting with coaching!

Our new Puppy

I have been wanting a little house dog for about the last ten years. I finally talked Marty into it (with Haley's help). My mom has this great little Shih Tzu that she has had for a couple of years. This little puppy came from the same Mom that her dog came from. My mom picked her up in Colorado Springs and we met her in Amarillo to pick her up. We've named her Claire and we think she's really sweet!!!

More from Stephen and Shelley's wedding

Here's a few more....

Stephen and Shelley

Stephen and Shelley were married on March 10th at the Little Chapel in the Woods at TWU. It was a beautiful wedding. The chapel is a challenging place to photograph because it is so dark. I managed to get some pictures in the ambient light without flash during the ceremony. I do not like to use flash during ceremonies so that I am not a distraction. Shelley and Stephen had such a good looking bridal party. The reception was held at the Denton Country Club and it was a lot of fun. I found out that Stephen likes to dance, especially to Michael Jackson!!!

Bridal

This is my cousin Shelley. We did her bridal portraits recently at the Dallas Arboretum in the morning when the temperature was in the 40s! It was cold, but Shelley managed well and we were able to get some beautiful pics of her. See what you think....

2007 Pricing

It's so hard for me to decide what are fair reasonable prices for me to charge for my photography services. For 2007, I've reevaluated my pricing to fairly compensate myself for the time spent with consultation, photographing, post production editing, ordering and preparing final product for delivering. I think I've simplified it a little for you, black and whites are now the same price as color prints. So here goes......

4 wallets $6
5x7 and smaller $9
8x10 $14.50 w/matboard $19
11x14 w/matboard $48
16x20 w/matboard $88

Creation fee for families of 5 or less is $40, which includes online proofing. If you prefer printed proofs, creation fee is $60 with a $100 deposit for print credit. Creation fees are due at time of booking I ask that you place a $100 minimum order.

When you call to schedule and appointment, we will discuss location, best time for photographing, and clothing options. After we have our appointment, I will have your portraits available for online viewing within 2 weeks. Once you place your order, you can expect it to be ready within 2 weeks. (I say 2 weeks on this, but most of you have found that I work faster, I just would rather not promise it)

These prices are effective 1/1/07, subject to change.

New Learning Opportunity

Since I began seriously considering starting a photography business, I have been told by several different photographers to try to attend the Texas School of Photography and to do what ever I could to take Doug Box's class. On January 3rd, regsitration started for this year's Texas School at Midnght. Well, since I REALLY wanted to get into his class, I decided to set my alarm for 11:45 ( I had to go to bed because I was working the next day) and get online so that I could send in my registration as soon as it turned midnight. I hit enter at about 2 seconds after midnight. So yesterday I got my letter from Texas School and I DID get in his class. YEAH!!!!! I can't wait! I'll be there from April 22nd-April 27th. So get ready, I plan on learning lots of cool things to apply to my practice!. Check out Doug's site, www.dougbox.com.

Time to Play!

The snow stopped on Saturday and boy did the kids have a blast! My brother even hooked their snow tube up to the 4wheeler and pulled them around the snow. (The tube did not survive though). Look at how pretty the sky is once the sun comes out after a beautiful snow. After that much snow, we spent a lot of the day shoveling and digging out.

About Me

I am a daughter to two great parents, a sister to two crazy brothers, a wife, and a mother to Haley, Carson, and Keller. I have been a nurse for 12 years. I love nursing, but since having my children, I have come to realize that there is nothing better than capturing them in photos.
